"St. Cyril and Methodius"
The Bulgarian military research ship "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" with Commander Captain II rank Nikolay Danailov and a crew of 26 is on its first mission to Antarctica. The transition to Fr. Livingstone is expected to last 40 days.
NIK-421 is owned by Consortium "Bulgarian Antarctic Base "St. Kliment Ohridski" and scientific research vessel", whose members are the Higher Naval School "N. Y. Vatsparov", Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute. The ceremonial act of raising the naval flag and assigning a name to the ship was held on July 27, 2021 in Varna.
