"THE ANTARCTIC FEELING"
THE ANTARCTIC FEELING”
A unique exhibition was presented in Antarctica The works of students from V, VI and VII grades of 96 SU "Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy", who participated in the project from the ECOANTAR program of the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute, reached our Polar Base "St. Kliment Ohridski" on Livingston Island. In the area of Cape Hana, they were shown in a unique exhibition under the open sky, with the assistance of some of the members of the 28th Bulgarian Antarctic Expedition. The area has been declared a nature reserve because rare bird species nest there, there are penguin colonies and seal roosts. The pictures are made entirely of ecological materials such as rice, lentils, chia seeds, eggshells, etc., which represents the so-called environmental art or "eco art". It is a modern art form aimed at creating in sync with the environment. With the expressive means of decorative art, students recreate their perspective on the beauty, flora and fauna of Antarctica. Through such artistic performances, we hope that the problem of protecting the nature of the Ice Continent will reach more people and that each of us will think about what we could do to help preserve the unique ecosystems in Antarctica.
